For this week my new habit in each of the following categories:
(1) Improve diet – Stop drinking diet drinks
(2) Exercise – Reach my goal of 2,500 Nike Fuel points on my Nike Fuel Band
(3) Take away stress – Get out of office for a walk at lunch time
Good Progress
Boy howdy, the last week flew by pretty dang fast. I took my lunch everyday without fail. I found out that I need to take more food for the afternoon because since I don’t eat a good breakfast, I get really hungry about 3:00 pm. If I do eat breakfast so I’m not so hungry at lunch I can eat just a little and then have some left for my afternoon snack. I’ll make eating a better breakfast my goal next week. This week I need to replace the last remnant of my Dr. Pepper habit.
I switched to Diet Dr. Pepper when I gave up regular ones about 6 months ago. I just figured out that diet drinks cause me digestive problems so it’s my top priority to give them up. Giving them up is not the problem, replacing them with something healthy without a lot of sugar is! Drinking water isn’t a problem but at some point in my day I need something else. So far tea or green tea does the trick but those are like water, they only satisfy for so long. I guess it will just take time and I am determined. Next week I will just keep working!
Nike Fuel Band
My son gave me a Fuel Band for my birthday over a year ago. It calculates your activity into “Nike fuel points”. I was hooked immediately. I really needed something to help motivate me to be more active. At the time I was teaching middle school and was moving around during the day a lot more than I realized. Now, with my office job, I don’t have the opportunity get as many points during the day so it’s much more challenging.

Stress Relief
Since retiring from teaching my stress level has gone way down but there are still those times when I tend to stress myself! When I take my lunch I tend to stay at the office to eat it. That makes for a very long day so that’s why I am making it a goal to get out and walk somewhere at lunch. I live in the coolest place ever so I have no excuses! Yesterday, a cloudy cool day in July, I ate my lunch in the Chickasaw National Park. I found 4shared pro apk one of the old rock, spring buildings beside the creek that runs through the park. With no one else in sight, it was a very nice, quiet, lovely lunch.
